Ethan Jones, a new youtuber with just 3 updated videos, decided to make a compilation of all the animated versions of the ‘Walt Disney Pictures’ opening logo since 1985, and apparently he did it right because this video has been circulating on various sites.
And although the result is magical and makes us relieve our childhood, is worth seeing beyond the simple logo animation and its adaptation over time, after all my blog is not just about inspiration and pretty things.
In recent years we have seen the grown of the trend of morphing logos, logos that are no longer static and are able to change their color, form, content, etc. according to what is required, a typical example is the case of Melbourne (http://on.be.net/1BMTDzn). And you may be wondering ‘What’s that got to do with Disney? Well, as you can see, the Mickey Mouse brand has done it since 1995 and after a lot of years it now has become a mainstream thing.
Perhaps we didn’t realize it because we see the film industry as something very distant and big, but now with digital media brands can live in different ways, which gives us the facility to design this type of morphing brands. This makes me think that we must look beyond the graphic design bubble and see what is going on in other areas so we can adapt it into our little world, and maybe you can be the new trendsetter, you never know.
But well.. at least this is my f opinion.
Btw, Ethan Jones saw its videos was becoming famous so he took a chance and made one of Dreamworks, take a look, its at the bottom.
